Yanting Shen leads product at Monexus, bringing both bench science and commercialization experience to the company’s path from lab toward clinic.
She earned her PhD at the University of Hong Kong’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, where she made the crucial breakthrough behind Fibro-Gel, an injectable hydrogel for regenerative medicine and wound healing. HKU credited the discovery — that microfibre length controls a gel’s drug-release rate, yielding a tunable aqueous-microfibre drug-delivery system — to Shen and a postdoctoral colleague.
That hydrogel and drug-delivery expertise maps directly onto Monexus’s living materials. She now serves as a Project Manager at a Hong Kong-based biomedical innovation and commercialization organization, with expertise in startup development, funding strategy, investor engagement and cross-border partnerships.
