Engineering Living Materials into Medicine

A living-biomaterial platform designed for sustained, local therapeutic delivery — one platform, multiple potential applications.

One Platform. Many Possibilities.

Living probiotics engineered inside a biomaterial — one platform designed for multiple potential applications.

Engineered Living Materials

One living platform,
many diseases.

Probiotics engineered inside a biomaterial — a self-renewing drug factory designed to turn the body’s surplus nutrients into continuous anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory remedy.

Preclinical

A platform, not a product.

One engineered-living-material stack — retargeted from a single biology into many indications.

  1. Living Biomaterials The substrate
  2. Microbial Engineering Engineered probiotic
  3. Material Science Encapsulation
  4. Targeted Drug Production Continuous biosynthesis
  5. Multiple Diseases Applications
One platform → many diseases
  • Periodontitis
  • Dialysis infection
  • Diabetic wounds
  • Throat health

All results preclinical — lab cultures and animal models. Not approved, not proven in humans. Not medical advice.

The Problem: Medicine Fights the Wrong Way

Conventional antimicrobial therapy fails on two fronts: resistance, and delivery that fades too fast.

RisingAnti-biotic resistance is outpacing the drugs we have
BiofilmsShield bacteria on devices and wounds, blunting standard treatment
Burst-then-fadeDrug-loaded materials release fast, then run out
Our vision

From Lab to Clinic: Empowering materials to heal.

Our mission is simple to say and hard to do: bring living materials out of the lab and toward the clinic, so that everyday medical problems - sore, bleeding gums, stubborn infections, the daily grind of dialysis - can one day be met by materials that keep working on their own. We pair synthetic biology with materials science to design solutions that are alive, adaptive, and built to last, instead of a single dose that fades within hours.

A plain word on where we are. Monexus is a research-stage company. Our results so far come from early laboratory and animal studies - they are genuinely encouraging, but they are not yet proven human treatments, and none of our products is approved or available today. The next chapter of our work is to earn that proof, one careful step at a time, on the road toward clinical trials. Nothing here is medical advice.

Our vision is to become the global leader in functional living coatings and smart biomaterials — surfaces and gels that stay alive to protect and heal, rather than fade.
