Kelvin To is Department Chairperson and Clinical Professor of Microbiology in HKUMed’s School of Clinical Medicine, and Chief of Service for Microbiology at Queen Mary Hospital. A clinical virologist, he anchors Monexus’s understanding of infection and the microbes at the heart of its platform.
He earned a B.Sc. from the University of British Columbia and his MB BS and MD from the University of Hong Kong. His work spans clinical microbiology and virology — with a focus on emerging respiratory viruses including influenza and coronaviruses — across viral diagnostics, genome analysis, epidemiology and pathogenesis.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists, the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Pathology), the Royal College of Physicians, and the Infectious Diseases Society of America, and sits on the Scientific Committee on Vaccine Preventable Diseases at Hong Kong’s Centre for Health Protection.
